Lydia Pollock, B. Sc.

Professional Level Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher (500 hour)

Lydia is a yoga teacher who has studied a variety of yoga styles and traditions with teachers in Canada and the US for the last 20 years. She looks to YuMee Chung, advanced yoga teacher in the Toronto area, as a strong, reliable mentor and role model. Lydia’s studies have resulted in over 1000 hours of Yoga Alliance Certified Training.

Nowadays, Lydia enjoys integrating her knowledge and experience to provide safe and nurturing yoga classes for students of all ages and levels of practice.

Before yoga became the driving force in Lydia’s life she had a variety of careers. Starting in 1977 as an analytical chemist in the food industry, then operating a home jewellery design business and in 1997 returning to the corporate world as an online marketing manager. Lydia and her husband, Lee, formed Nestle Nook Design in 1999, a consulting company focusing on excellence in quality in manufacturing processes.

The year 2004 became pivotal as Lydia transitioned to her current role in the yoga world, studying at the Kripalu Centre for Yoga and Wellness to achieve the level of Certified Yoga Teacher. She began teaching immediately upon graduation at various venues and studios in the York Region.

Lydia lives in Ballantrae, Ontario with her precocious feline, Junior. She has two adult daughters, Nathalie(Ryan) and Stephanie(Kyle) and is now the proud grandmother of Remy, Gemma, Mira and Damien.

Lydia and her late husband created a home studio, Lydia Yoga Studio, in the Ballantrae area of Stouffville, which opened in November of 2014.

Watercolour painting has become Lydia’s latest passion.

Lydia is deeply grateful to her wonderful teachers, past, present and future and to her many dedicated yoga students who challenge themselves with the gift of yoga regularly.
